Experienced native Spanish-speaking teacher

I am originally from Venezuela and moved to the United States as an adult to learn English after becoming a dentist in my home country. I embarked on a journey to pursue higher education in the U.S. I earned a bachelor's degree in Public Health, a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a second master's degree in Educational Leadership from Weber State University.

I am a licensed teacher with endorsements in World Language (WL), English as a Second Language (ESL), and Dual Immersion (DLI). I licensed as a medical interpreter in 2014 and worked as a contracted medical interpreter for the University of Utah for five years.

My teaching experience includes instructing Spanish at the elementary, junior, and high school levels, where I taught Spanish 1, Concurrent Enrollment (CE) Spanish 2 and 3, and CE Spanish Bridge, which is the highest level of proficiency classes offer at university level. I am currently a Spanish teacher and vice-principal of a school in Salt Lake City.

I reside in Layton, UT, with my husband and three children. In my free time, I enjoy reading, expanding my knowledge, developing curriculum, spending quality time with my family, cooking, exploring new restaurants in the area, and traveling.

I am passionate about teaching Spanish and creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment for my students.
